What Would You Do for a Palm Pre?

Think you have what it takes to win a FREE Palm Pre? Time to put up or shut up! PreCentral.net is giving away FIVE Palm Pre Phones the day that the Palm Pre is released. In addition, we're sweetening the deal by making them into full-on Palm Pre Packs, including:

How do you win? You tell us! From now until Midnight Eastern Time on April 30th, we're taking submissions to find out what the most crazy, awesome, and hilarious things our members are willing to do to win a free Palm Pre. On May 1st, a panel of judges from Smartphone Experts will pick the five best entries. Those five will then have two weeks to complete their Pre Pack Projects.

TEN Chances to Win!

If you're not chosen for a Palm Pre Escapade, don't fret! In addition to all of the above, we're also giving away runner up prizes: five more $50 Amazon Gift Cards for PreCentral.net Palm Pre Forum Members. How do you win one of those? Simply sign up as a member and score one "Thanked" post or Thank another user's post -- in other words, it's quality, not quantity. We'll chose the winner randomly from all the users with at least one thanked post or who have thanked a post.

One last note before we get to the full rules: you might have guessed that our inspiration came from our friends at CrackBerry.com. Head on over to see what they did then come on back. See if you can't make your submission bigger and better -- as big an improvement as the Pre is over that Storm!

Contest Details for "What Would You Do" Entries:

  1. Scroll down this page and fill out the Contestant Information and "What You Would Do" fields - you need to tell us What You Would Do for a FREE Palm Pre Pack!
  2. Deadline for What You Would Do submissions is Midnight Eastern Time, April 30th, 2009.
  3. On May 1st, a panel of judges will go through all of the entries submitted and pick out FIVE soon-to-be Palm Pre owners based on their entry submissions. Our criteria? Simple: the five craziest, funniest, and most awesome entries we get.
  4. Winners will be contacted by phone (May 2nd) with What You Would Do and prize claim arrangements made at this time.

Getting Your Palm Pre

  1. Once we've contacted our five winners, then the real excitement starts. To get your FREE Palm Pre, you need to first EARN it. That means you actually have to DO what you said you'd do on your contest entry -- on camera.
  2. Selected winners will have until May 16th (but sooner is better) to carry out the What You Would Do that was submitted on their entry ballot. You will be required to submit a video and photos of the event into PreCentral.net as proof (to be arranged later).
  3. Once you get us proof of completing your What You Would Do you are entitled to your Palm Pre Pack. We will make arrangements to make sure you have it as soon as possible!
  4. Once we have all five proof-of What You Would Do videos turned in, we'll share them all!

Tips

  1. Think long and hard about your What Would You Do submission. We will not be choosing any entries as winners that suggest anything potentially harmful or illegal. Get creative, but don't get stupid!
  2. Keep your entry idea a secret! You don't want anybody stealing your idea from you and submitting it themselves.
  3. Only submit something you are willing to do. If you're not willing to video tape and have yourself photographed while doing it (and share it with the world), then don't submit it. If any of the winners fail to perform their What You Would Dos, they won't get their Pre Pack and we'll move down our list to the next winner.
  4. Don't forget: Entries that one-up the "What would you do for a BlackBerry Storm Contest" are more likely to win than entries that just match them. Be creative, be awesome, but don't be illegal!

Contest Fine Print - Please Read!

  1. This contest is only open to US residents (The Pre is only available on Sprint, after all) and is not open to Smartphone Experts employees or contractors.
  2. You must be over 18 years of age to win (sorry about that).
  3. We reserve the right to publish any submission's content along with the submitter's first name whether we pick it as a winner or no -- but we will never share your email, phone number, or last name with anyone for any reason.
  4. Winners agree to have their name published on the site and allow PreCentral.net to publish any of the material (video, photos, etc.) submitted as proof of What Would You Do.
  5. Winners will receive their Palm Pre Pack at the earliest possible date. We don't know when the launch is (honest!), but we'll hook you up ASAP.
  6. If you have any questions, please an email to contest@precentral.net.

Contest Details for Runner Up Prizes

  1. Register and make quality posts in the PreCentral.net Palm Pre forums. If one of your posts is thanked or you click the "Thanks" button on another post, you're entered! Note: posts simply saying "Thank me," attempts to register multiple accounts in order to get Thanks, and other such tomfoolery will be met with swift and righteous deletion and possibly even bans. Just make a good post, thank other members for their posts, and you're in.
  2. Deadline for Runner Up Prizes is Midnight Eastern on May 16th, 2009.
  3. This contest is only open to US residents (The Pre is only available on Sprint, after all) and is not open to Smartphone Experts employees or contractors.
  4. You must be over 18 years of age to win (sorry about that).
  5. Personal information collected will not be distributed, shared or sold.

One final note, everybody: the deadlines for this contest in no way indicate that we have the first clue when the Palm Pre is getting released -- we don't!
