Hello and welcome to our latest rumorpalooza. We're receiving so many incoming rumors with so much information that it's all a bit of a mess. Let's get started and see if we can't make some sense of it all.
First up, que180 in our Pre Forums notes that our favorite Sprint Blogger is teasing us a bit with the image you see at right. Whether it represents a not-so-subtle hint, a good guess, or blatant mockery, we can't say for sure.
Next up, we've received a couple of tips from Sprint employees with regard to the marketing materials they're expecting. Right now, each store's "Planogram" is set to expire on June 6th. A Planogram is essentially a kit of all the signage and merchandising for a store: where the accessories are to be located, where the signs go, and which phones get preferential placement in the store.
Burnett follows this up by noting that all current rebate forms need to have a receipt that falls between April 16th and June 6th:
Mail-in Rebates Requirements:
Take advantage of our Mail-in Rebate offers and save a bundle on your new phone.
Purchase your phone on Sprint.com or by phone through Sprint Customer Service.
1 to 2 yr. contract (for new and upgrading customers).
PDA, BlackBerry and smartphones - Requires one of the following plans or add-ons:
Simply Everything or Simply Everything Family plan
Everything Data or Everything Data Family plan
Data Premier Add-on
PRO Pack Add-on
Fill out the form in its entirety.
Include your sales receipt, email receipt, online order summary printout, or packing slip. Must be dated 4/16/09 - 6/6/09.
Your rebate must be postmarked no later than 6/20/09.
Cash your rebate within 90 days of issuance.
Now, Sprint stores go through these sorts on changes on a very regular basis, so we're not looking at iron-clad guarantees that these June 6th deadlines mean a big June 7th launch. On the other hand, it would certainly fit pretty well, no? Remember, though that this is Sprint's biggest launch in years, perhaps ever, so there's no reason they couldn't quickly adjust any of the above to accommodate a different launch date.
Thanks to everybody who sent in all these tips!
