Back in summer, we told you that we are going to change our service branding to Nokia. The main reason for this change is so we can leverage the high-value of the Nokia master brand to better support future plans to deliver disruptive and compelling mobile experiences globally. As a result, we now have the refreshed Nokia Maps with more coverage, beautiful user interface, great features like detailed place pages of millions of interesting locations across the world, Live Traffic Flow, and more. Nokia Store has also undergone the rebranding and is more user-friendly and faster, and we continue to work on changing the brand from Ovi to Nokia on various channels, including this blog.
As we discussed earlier, embracing the Nokia brand does not mean that we neglect our services. True to our word, Nokia Maps, one of the first Ovi services to switch to Nokia brand, now has a refreshed look and feel, faster loading, more detailed place pages and a host of new features like public transport routing, live traffic flow and more that are now available for our users. Today, we are redirecting the ovi.com web page to Nokia Maps, as a part of the rebranding exercise. Why to Nokia Maps? Because as you may know, Nokia’s Location strategy plays a major part in our future plans and is a key part of our collaboration with Microsoft. Once you land on the page, you can either explore Maps, or can navigate to access your Store, Mail, Music or Contacts as usual.
Again, this is just a brand related redirect – we are still here to listen to you and will continue to evolve the services that you love and provide you with new services under the Nokia brand.
