Kateeva promises print-based OLED production technology




Relative newcomer to the flat panel TV market, Kateeva is promising to introduce technology that will eventually make OLED HDTVs less expensive than their LCD counterparts. A new printing technology the company is developing will eventually produce OLED TVs that cost 60 percent of what a comparably sized LCD panels costs, according to company executives. A prototype printer and related process being tested now can produce displays over an area of nearly 71 by 59 inches, which could theoretically produce displays as big as 90 inches....
