According to reports, Fujitsu and Macnica are teaming up to create a Digital Photo Frame powered by Android. They're calling it a "Software Platform for Home Network Digital Photo Frames" based on the Android OS. We're not really sure why they would need to use a 'smartphone' OS for this but Android is proving more and more versatile by the day so maybe it makes sense.
And well, if Android can save Digital Photo Frames from bad UI and all around obsoleteness that'd be an accomplishment in itself. If Fujitsu and Macnica can actually come up with a Digital Photo Frame pseudo-standard OS off Android, that'd be even more amazing.
In the mean time, we're going to wait until we actually see one of these puppies before we start making predictions on how it'll work and if it'll even resemble Android. Godspeed Fujitsu.
